Climate-related disasters such as floods, cyclones, heatwaves, and droughts are increasing in frequency and intensity due to global climate change. These disasters not only cause loss of life and property but also disrupt economic stability and social well-being.
This project examines climate disasters and the strategies for disaster risk reduction (DRR), focusing on preventive measures, preparedness, and mitigation practices. It highlights the importance of community awareness, government policies, and sustainable practices in reducing vulnerability to climate-related hazards.
The study provides a comprehensive analysis of disaster management frameworks, risk assessment methods, and real-world case studies to equip students with practical knowledge on addressing climate-related challenges.
Objectives
The following objectives are formulated for the proposed study:
