Consumer protection has become a vital component of modern economic systems as markets expand and consumer rights evolve. The Consumer Protection Act, 2019, has introduced robust mechanisms to resolve disputes efficiently and transparently. This project, “Consumer Dispute Resolution Mechanisms: Comparative Analysis and Best Practices”, explores various redressal forums in India and compares them with international models to identify effective practices that ensure fairness, accountability, and prompt grievance handling.
The study highlights the roles of Consumer Forums, Mediation Cells, and Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) systems in addressing consumer grievances. It also examines successful case studies from India and other countries to understand how digitalization and legal reforms have improved access to justice for consumers.
